. . Another year has passed at Blue Star Vineyard. Our
grapevines are now dormant after a season of recovery.
The winter of
2013/2014 was exceptionally hard on our plants. The winter injury
sustained to the vines caused a dramatic reduction in yields for this
season. Even with the reduced crop load, we were able to bring in over
tons of grapes for our 2014 Fall harvest.
Our hopes are
that the 2014/2015 winter will be less drastic in terms of temperature and
vineyard continues to grow as we now have over 3,800
vines in the ground or about 7 acres planted. We will be
1/2 acre this
is located north of historic Woodstock, IL just off Route 47. However,
Vineyard is not
open to the public for tours.
